Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is caused by alcohol exposure during pregnancy and is 100% preventable. Effects include facial abnormalities, growth problems, and central nervous system damage leading to learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and intellectual impairment. There is no safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy. Women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy should avoid alcohol entirely.
