In the event of an emergency outside of office hours, you may contact the treatment center after-hours on call number. We will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

In the event of inclement weather, or other emergency closures or announcements, the treatment center will post a notification on the treatment center website and/or leave a voicemail with additional instructions.

Beginning Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) can be an enormous step to take.  It is normal to have some apprehension and concerns about entering treatment.  Many people do not know what to expect when seeking out treatment.  Our goal at ORTC is to ensure you receive the best individualized treatment services available and make the process as stress-free as possible. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications with counseling and behavioral therapies to treat substance use disorders and prevent opioid overdose.

MAT may be the right choice for you if:

• You are an adult 18 years or older who has been dependent on pain medication or heroin for more than a year.
• Your opioid use has resulted in social consequences, affecting your work, family, and social obligations.
• Previous attempts at quitting have been unsuccessful.
• You are combining one or more substances, putting your health at further risk.
• You have engaged in criminal activity to continue using illicit substances.
• You use opiates intravenously which puts you at high risk for AIDS, HIV, STDs, and Hepatitis C.

Methadone and Buprenorphine are FDA approved, highly regulated medications used to help individuals recover from opioid addiction.  MAT programs provide a safe and controlled level of medication to overcome the use of an abused opioid. Research has shown that when provided at the proper dose, medications used in MAT have no adverse effects on a person’s intelligence, mental capability, physical functioning, or employability.

Years of studies have shown that there is no lasting harm to the child from exposure to methadone during pregnancy and has been proven to reduce the risk of illness or death in both the mother and child.  If you are pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform the ORTC treatment team prior to taking methadone.

Overall, studies over decades across millions of clients show that clients improve physical health compared to their health status prior to MAT. If a client had prior medical conditions, poor nutrition or poor dental care, clients may become aware of these symptoms as their body stabilizes on medication. Clients can then properly address pre-existing conditions and improve healthcare, nutrition, and healthy wellness habits.

Addiction and physical dependence are two different characteristics. Addiction is compulsive use of a drug despite negative consequences. MAT is not an addiction; it is a physical dependence that is required to maintain physical stability. Like a diabetic patient that is dependent on insulin, methadone or buprenorphine products do not produce the addictive behaviors of compulsion where cravings and withdrawal symptoms lead to constant drug use.

The Treatment Centers require guest dosing information be sent 48 hours in advance of the first day to guest dose.  This will allow us to obtain the proper authorization and physician approval for guest dosing.  If we do not receive 48 hours’ notice prior to the first day of guest dosing, it may result in a denial of guest dose.  We do understand that emergencies happen, if you have a client that needs to guest dose due to an emergency, please contact the treatment center, via phone, to discuss guest dosing so that we can work with you to take care of the client.

• All our facilities only carry diskettes and tablets.  WE DO NOT CARRY LIQUID METHADONE.  We can only dose someone in 5mg increments in Methadone.  We can dose someone in 2mg increments of Suboxone or Subutex.  Please make sure your documentation and orders are written to reflect these requirements.  If not, we will contact you to get new orders which could delay the guest dosing.
• Our dosing hours are Monday thru Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
• The facilities are closed on Sundays and all Federal Holidays.  On the days we are closed, clients will receive a take-home.  Please make sure your documentation and orders are written to reflect that they can have a take-home for Sunday and holiday closures.  If not, we will contact you for confirmation which could delay the guest’s dosing.
• All clients are required to have a lockable box for any take homes.
• All clients are required to have valid photo identification with them every time they present to our facility.
• According to our policy and procedures, at the end of the day prior to the scheduled guest dosing day or the morning of the scheduled day a nurse from our facility will confirm with a nurse from your facility the client’s information.  Our policy and procedures require these steps to be completed prior to dosing, failure to follow these steps could delay guest dosing.
