Recovery

Recovery from addiction involves change and growth on many different levels, encompassing the psychological, physical, emotional, and social domains.

The compulsion to get drugs, take drugs and experience the effect of drugs has dominated every waking moment and has taken the place of everything an addicted person used to enjoy doing. It has disrupted how they function in their family lives, at work, and in the community, and has made them more likely to suffer from other serious illnesses.

Due to the array of needs of every client, it is hard to give an exact time frame for recovery. ORTC members focus on the holistic needs of the client which can vary due to many factors including: age, onset of addiction, length of addiction, amount of drugs used, mental health needs, and potential drug induced organic brain damage.
